EIFS bands are styrofoam glued to the wall. The tops are level directing water into the wall. After
a few years, the bands separate, allowing water to freely flow into the wall.
The one by eight door jamb has sagged and has been replaced twice.
It is held in place by an ugly glob of caulk. The band over the garage door
also has a gap for a water funnel.
This isn't really a window sill. A styrofoam band under the window catches water that runs down the window and
diverts the water into the wall. This foam backer rod absorbs water and trickles it into the house.
Old stucco was chipped up and prepared to be re-coated.
You may have seen our bonding coats before. Cement mortar is mixed with flexcon, an acrylic bonding admixture. The surface is left rough for the finish coat.
100 year old townhouse looks like new. Finish coat is REAL white portland cement, lime and white silica sand.
We even stuccoed the window surround and sill in the front of the house.

Stucco was failing on this retaining wall. Fortunately it had weeps, and hadn't failed since 1921.
