Old stucco peeled off
We peeled off the stucco and then the wood lath
The Pebble Dash Kings still rule the roost in Washington, DC
Here's how we did it:
We built a box over the electric meter.
Tearing off stucco will damage anything that isn't protected.
Rotted wood sheathing boards are replaced.
Real one by's are used. Flashing is put on electric and sealed.
Flashing is put on over window
Flashing is put over the wood drip molding.
Rubber membrane seals the windows and flashing.
Door is shielded with planks. Everything is covered real good
Window flashing is sealed last
The sides of the windows are sealed with goop.
The kick out is covered by metal flashing and rubber membrane
Scratch coat on metal lath
We only use self furring lath.
After a second scratch coat, the pebble mix is dashed on.
Finger shows the lap in the first layer is overlapped by the second.
Just like 1921 again.
