Decorative concrete coating

Sidewalk roughed up bonding coat is applied.
Sidewalk roughed up by chipping with an electric chipping hammer. Most of the flaky white coating is removed. A bonding coat is applied using acrylic additives in the mortar. The expansion grooves are filled in and the surface roughed
up by rubbing with a rubber float.
This is similar to the process used in plastering swimming pools, but stronger yet.

Finish coat is applied. When the finish sets,
the taped is peeled off, leaving design.
I finished a little at a time, pulling the tape as I
went. The finish is roughed up with a rubber float for good traction. Finish is white portland cement and sand colored with a little "meadowbrook" from La Habra stucco.
