The old
              stucco was loose
The last re-stucco was already
              failing
The old stucco was loose and getting ready to fall
off. The house had been re-stuccoed at some point by nailing metal lath over the old stucco.
The last re-stucco was already failing. It is
a good idea to tear it all the way off instead of
nailing over the old stucco.
apron
              flashing
Two layers
              of tarpaper
The old stucco is stripped down to the wood lath.
Here, we are putting on an apron flashing over
the shed roof on the porch.
Two layers of tarpaper (count 'em, not one but
two !).
counter
              flashing on the chimney
coin in
              the chimney cap
We put  a new counter flashing on the chimney.
Somebody in the past used my coin in the chimney cap idea and embedded a penny in the top. I put in quarters.
top of the chimney has our typical
              band
Another finished
              product.
The top of the chimney has our typical band for
a drip edge, preserving the life of the chimney.
Another finished product.
